Who are you and where are you from? Tell us about your upbringing and how you have become the person you are today.*
I’m originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. Born and raised in the general vicinity and then transplanted over to Texas about 18 years ago. While Louisiana will always be home, this chica needed to broaden her horizons and learn how to live life differently than what she knew growing up. #LongStory Fast forward 3 kiddos, two miscarriages and taking 8 years to graduate college while supporting the (at the time) hubby grow his career and taking care of the house… it became really clear that despite all of the efforts I made to expand my horizons, I was caged inside of a box feeling like I didn’t know who I was or what my purpose was in life. I started teaching, making friends, traveling… trying new things here and there… and I started finding myself. Turns out, that me wasn’t a “good fit” for my marriage anymore… so that went up in flames pretty quick, and I found myself REALLY learning who I was at my core… what I am capable of… where to expend my energy… how to care for myself (and others)… who my support system was (and wasn’t). There’s a lot of other stuff in that story post divorce… but what I’ve learned most about myself is that I’m at my best when I’m with my kids, or in the gym. And I think this is because both environments truly give back what you put in - unconditionally.
Before you joined Beast Body what were you struggling with?
Staying strong mentally after surgeries! I had two back to back surgeries in 2020… I went from daily exercising to being almost completely restricted from anything other than walking. Learning how to be patient with my body while it healed, but also not being afraid to do things for fear of re-injury was a delicate balance that almost drove me half insane. Coming to BeastBody I was petrified that I would land back on the operating table again, but have been so amazed by the support and guidance that has led me to be able to do what I can do today.
What was your breaking point to make the switch to focus on you and living a healthier lifestyle?
I was in a relationship after my divorce that ended abruptly… I didn’t realize at the time how toxic that relationship was… or what it was doing to me mentally after I had done so much work on growing myself post divorce. I knew I had to make a change with myself to get back on track. I took a chance with a kickboxing class remembering how good exercise made me feel in my teen years when things were rough…. Turns out that was just the right move, and I’ve been active pretty much daily ever since.
How and when were you introduced to Beast Body? *
I knew Liz from kickboxing, and she recommended Beast Body to me after our old gym shut down during Covid.
What are you most proud of, physically, mentally or both since beginning with us? *
Proving to myself that I am capable of doing things I never thought I would / could do.
What has been your biggest, most rewarding obstacle to overcome, either in the gym or on your health journey? *
Not gonna lie… BlueBell ice cream… 😳
Why Beast Body? *
When you know, you know… every gym has equipment. Most have trainers… but very few make you feel like you belong the minute you walk through those big garage doors. BeastBody made me feel welcome… and helped me see that my body wasn’t failing me… it was just my silly mind that I needed to overcome.
Whats next? What are you excited about pursuing? *
I’m REALLY hoping for those pull-ups… a successful Extreme test… and more of these Hyrox competitions, with continued self improvement.

Who are you and where are you from? Tell us about your upbringing and how you have become the person you are today.*
I am from Victoria Texas, I never had no desire to workout or eat healthy. I knew I wanted to lose weight but never put the work in until 2020. When the pandemic hit I was really bored at home so I started to ride my bike everyday. Ever since then I have been working out to better myself and reach the goals I always wanted to reach.
Before you joined Beast Body what were you struggling with?
Before I joined Beast Body, I had already lost around 10lbs. I wanted to lose more and then gain more muscle. I almost lost hope because I was not able to do that.
What was your breaking point to make the switch to focus on you and living a healthier lifestyle?
I finally stopped saying I wanted to lose weight and actually did something about it. The pandemic also helped me with that I as well. I was tired of sitting at home doing nothing.
How and when were you introduced to Beast Body? *
I was introduced to Beast Body at the end if April 2022. I saw that Autumn Marley was a member at Beast Body so I asked her about it.
What are you most proud of, physically, mentally or both since beginning with us? *
I’m really proud of me physically because I knew I could lose the weight I wanted to reach my goals. However I am more proud of me mentally. I believe my mentality is really strong and there were a TON of mental games that I had to play in the process.
What has been your biggest, most rewarding obstacle to overcome, either in the gym or on your health journey? *
So before joining Beast Body I had lost 10lbs on my own and then I could not lose anymore. When I joined Beast Body and decided to create a meal plan with their nutritionist, Colleen, I was able to lose the lbs.
Why Beast Body? *
Beast Body is not just a gym where you come, workout and then leave. It’s a place where you show up, socialize, help one another, encourage one another and get to know each other. It’s a place where you feel like you belong there no matter who you are or what fitness level you are at. This gym is a family.
Whats next? What are you excited about pursuing? *
I am excited about challenging myself more and seeing how far I can go.

Whats your favorite exercise/movement? *
I am not sure about my favorite exercise but I do like core workouts and then station work. Another thing I like is the games we play.

I don’t think I have a song. If I’m being honest I don’t really listen to the music because I’m too focused on my workout.
What class time do you usually attend? *
I usually attend the 5pm class.
When your not working out whats your favorite thing to do? *
I like to go dancing like 2 stepping or line dancing.
What do you do for a living? *
I’m a college student working on my bachelors degree to become an Elementary school teacher.
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us? *
I’m actually a really shy person but at Beast Body I’m the complete opposite.

Before you joined Beast Body what were you struggling with?
Before joining I was in desperate need of a positive yet challenging friendly place to dance/socialize/workout maintaining is the hardest part for me (while [hitting] plateaus)
What was your breaking point to make the switch to focus on you and living a healthier lifestyle?
It was just ashamed to have lost of this weight and slowly gaining it back because of a lack of energy. I wanted to “Zumba" lol
How and when were you introduced to Beast Body? *
I google online a place to dance Zumba by my house and pray for it! I got my answer and more…
What are you most proud of, physically, mentally or both since beginning with us? *
I love my mental health knowing I am strong enough with the right people around to do this again. Without it, nothing moves
What has been your biggest, most rewarding obstacle to overcome, either in the gym or on your health journey? *
Starting is the most challenging but the best rewarding. I hate day one because when you have so much weight to lose there is no quick way but one day at the time… one week later because of a strong mind it becomes easier and easier…

Who are you and where are you from? Tell us about your upbringing and how you have become the person you are today.
I grew up in Ohio and moved to Cypress in 2013. I was never athletic but always pretty active. I’ve run of and on for years, did lots of aerobics back in the 80s and love hiking and camping. I taught high school math for many years and am currently a payroll processor.
Before you joined Beast Body what were you struggling with?
I was walking and/or running everyday but still not losing weight.
What was your breaking point to make the switch to focus on you and living a healthier lifestyle?
I joined Beast Body for the Zumba/dance classes. I’ve always loved this type of workout and was super consistent but still no change on that scale. Finally the reality hit that I need to change my diet.
How and when were you introduced to Beast Body? *
I drove by and noticed the Zumba flag and booked a trial class.
What are you most proud of, physically, mentally or both since beginning with us? *
Being consistent and actually trying Boot Camp. I never thought that type of thing would be for me.... I imagined it would be all crazy and intense. I was pleasantly surprised that it is very welcoming and the exercises are easily adapted to many levels. I am getting stronger.
What has been your biggest, most rewarding obstacle to overcome, either in the gym or on your health journey? *
Grocery shopping and food prepping. I’m a horrible cook. The pay off of having healthy food ready to go is worth it.
Why Beast Body? *
You’re not just a number at Beast Body. The owners and all the trainers genuinely care about helping you live a healthier lifestyle. They see where you are and start there to help you reach your potential. The other members are so supportive. There is no judgment like you feel at other places.
Whats next? What are you excited about pursuing? *
I’m going to continue to work out and hopefully lose a few more pounds while I wait for Summer Shred to begin. Maybe get back into running.

Where are you from?
I am originally from Ontario, Canada but have lived in Texas, predominantly in the Cypress area for 20 years
Who are you and where are you from? Tell us about your upbringing and how you have become the person you are today.
I was born and raised in a very small town called Guelph, Ontario, which is about an hour outside of Toronto, in Canada. As a true 80's child at heart and I would give anything to be able to raise my children as I was raised with so many more freedoms, and in a world where there wasn't nearly as many rules and fears.
I was raised as an only child by a single mom who I watched always persevere and find a solution to every problem. She is the strongest person I know and has always fiercely supported me and has been my biggest cheerleader. She is the sole reason I am the woman I am today.
How I ended up in Texas is a story: I took a big leap of faith and moved here when I was 20 years old with my ex fiancé when he was transferred for his job. We amicably separated 2 years later and by that time I was already finishing college, had made friends who were like family and fell in love with Texas.
Skipping ahead to few failed marriages (a story for another time, lol) and 2 amazing children later, I met my husband and finally found my person. We have built an unbelievably happy life together and I am so excited for what the future will bring for our family!
Before you joined Beast Body what were you struggling with?
I was actually struggling and continue to struggle with severe anxiety/depression. I started kickboxing in October 2019, at 170lbs (about 30 lbs. more than I feel comfortable with) to get my weight under control, to be more active and also to have a healthy outlet for stress. I made friends in the gym, started feeling amazing and was set on the right track to get fit and then...COVID. In March 2020, my kickboxing gym closed down. Talk about devastating! A few of the members started up their own online kickboxing gym which fizzled out after a few months, and I just finally gave up. Without an outlet or any motivation get off my a**, my anxiety and depression worsened. I was over eating/binge eating sometimes without even realizing what I was doing. It felt like there was nothing to do besides eat, and food made everyone at home happy so we cooked, and we ate, and I ended up gaining 15lbs on top of the original weight I had gained in the first place.
What was your breaking point to make the switch to focus on you and living a healthier lifestyle?
It was really a laundry list of things:
I was depressed and felt like I had no idea even where to start I had let myself go so badly
I didn't feel attractive
I was tired all the time
I felt like I bait and switched my husband (I was 123lbs when we met 8 years ago, for the record he loves me no matter what I weigh, lol)
I was sick of not being able to buy cute clothes
I'm in sales and I was tired of being the overweight sales person at networking meetings next to a bunch of thin women
I wanted my kids to have a healthy mom
I felt like I wasn't taking care of the body God gave me.
I lost sight of the confident person I used to be My lack of motivation started to scare me because I wasn't setting a good example for my kids
I didn't want to turn 40 and be fat and unhealthy
I was afraid to hang out with people because I didn't want them to see how much weight I had gained
I did not love myself
How and when were you introduced to Beast Body? *
My friend Liz encouraged me to take a trial class. November 23rd, 2020...on a leg day! I powered through and then couldn't move for a whole week afterwards, lol! I ate my way through the holidays and then started with a few drop in classes at the beginning of January and eventually became a full member February 23, 2021.
What are you most proud of, physically, mentally or both since beginning with us? *
I am so proud of how far along my mindset has come. I no longer say I can't do things. I can and I will, maybe just not yet but I will work for it! It's funny how much you can accomplish when you stop telling yourself you can't do things. It's still a work in progress but I have most definitely come a very long way. Not to mention 32 lbs are gone and I am developing some bada** muscles!
What has been your biggest, most rewarding obstacle to overcome, either in the gym or on your health journey? *
So far in the gym it's been box jumps! This used to be terrifying for me, lol! Also my stamina had greatly improved. On my health journey it's really been all about eating right and sticking to my nutrition plan. I used to work out all the time just so that I could cheat on my diet every day. It took me awhile to realize it obviously doesn't work that way and my results speak for themselves. I am really proud of the strength I didn't know I had in me to avoid so many temptations during the shred challenge.
Why Beast Body? *
I am now amongst a group of people who have given me all the tools I need to be successful, who build each other up and who push me everyday to love myself and my accomplishments.
Whats next? What are you excited about pursuing? *
I am just about ready to start doing double classes. I'm currently working on my mind set and taking advice from other members who are seasoned double class attendees. I'd like to start boxing after boot camp. Still working on the perfect squat and I plan to tackle advanced pullups next! I actually realized during the shred challenge that I am actually pretty good at motivating others and I will be working this week (to start next week) on keeping the team bonus work going for whomever wants to participate moving forward.

When your not working out whats your favorite thing to do? *
I LOVE to spend time with my family, especially when we have movie night! I really like to cook and try out new recipes. I also love crafting and I would live at Hobby Lobby if they would let me, lol!
What do you do for a living? *
I am a Business Development Manager in the environmental field, specializing in medical waste, hazardous waste and waste water disposal.
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us? *
I am a 9 year survivor of stage 4 lymphoma

I struggled with maintaining weight loss and transforming my body.
What was your breaking point to make the switch to focus on you and living a healthier lifestyle? *
Spending money on a personal trainer and not achieving the results I desired.
How and when were you introduced to Beast Body? *

What are you most proud of, physically, mentally or both since beginning with us? *
Physically and mentally I have gotten stronger. My body has changed dramatically because mentally I have been able to navigate the obstacles that have come my way.
What has been your biggest, most rewarding obstacle to overcome, either in the gym or on your health journey? *
The most rewarding obstacle I have overcome was achieving results while being injured. With the help of Beast Body, workouts were created to protect my body and achieve my goals.
Why Beast Body? *
Where do I start? The owners and trainers are amazing! The workouts are challenging but achievable. The family atmosphere: everyone wants everyone to succeed. Finally, the mental strength that is gained by the powerful messages being delivered either in class or in our social media platforms.
Whats next? What are you excited about pursuing? *
Current goals are perfecting my squats, sit-ups and push ups

Started running at age 50. I ran a half marathon at age 51.

We are super blessed Jackie chose Beast Body to be a part of her personal fitness journey. From day 1 this lady has stayed consistent!... She has changed so much physically and mentally. Soon upon arriving and starting her journey she had injured her knee...Like really, we know how upsetting it is to start something and then an obstacle gets thrown our way! Most people would quit... but not this Beast! She still managed to modify her workouts and reach out when needed. She didn't give up!... During Covid-19 Quarentine she managed to loose an additional 14.2lbs in just 6 weeks. She showed us during the 6 weeks of quarantine the characteristics of leadership and motivation! She truly is an amazing spirit! We can go on about how awesome Jackie is....just knowing her for the short period of 11 months we know her journey and story will help continue to inspire so many.
